Snow

On Thursday we got our first snow for this winter. It kept snowing through out the whole day then and the next whole night. So far we have probably gotten at least 15 cm of snow. I have a feeling that this winter will be a long one. ;P

This was obviously the first time ever for Delta to see snow. Bonnie loves snow from the bottom of her heart so we were wondering how Delta would react on it. When I opened the door on Thursday and Bonnie saw there was snow, she ran out like a rocket. Bonnie is like a kid when it comes to snow. She loves to play in it, roll in it and grab a bite of it every now and then too. Delta saw how happy Bonnie was and just wanted to play with her. When Delta sniffed something on the ground she poked the snow funnily away with her nose. It almost looked like if the snow had tickled her little nose. :) Delta has also tasted the snow, yesterday she barked at a car that was covered in snow and today she rolled around in the snow for a good moment. :D Overall Delta seems to enjoy the white wonder of winter. She didn't even have any problems doing her business on it!

Treasures

Ohh, lookie what is it there between the couch seats? Yup, it is some silly puppy's treasure. ;)

Ever since Delta was a baby she has liked to hide her bones when she isn't eating them. First she tries to dig the floor a little, then she places her bone inside her imaginary hole and after that she covers the hole with pushing imaginary sand on top of it. Sometimes Delta even carries her blanket on top of the bone to hide it even better. :D

Now that Delta has grown bigger she has started to hide her treasures in our couch too. She pushes them between the seats or behind/under the pillows. Every time we notice her bone on the couch and take it down Delta looks at us with a really surprised face. She looks like if she was thinking "how in the world did they find my bone? I hide it so well!".

I have a feeling that our yard will be full of these treasures ala Delta one day. ;)

Potty trained

I can happily announce that our sweet puppy is potty trained! :) She has been that for quite a while now and last weekend I even put the carpets back on the floor. Oh how nice it is to have carpets again after so many months of living without them! Delta will be seven months old soon and this is the age when I thought (or actually hoped) she wouldn't have accidents indoors anymore. Bonnie was also around the same age when she figured out where to do her business. :) Just like Bonnie, Delta has also learned to do her business almost immediately as we enter outdoors. I like to teach my dogs to do that and after their toilet trip is done, the fun starts. :)

Clicker

Both me and the dogs love to practise tricks together. I thought that a clicker might be handy with this so some time ago I bought one. I had never used a clicker before so it was new to both me and the dogs, but we got the hang of it rather quickly and it has turned out to be a fun, effective device. Learning new tricks has become even easier for us now. :)

Some of the tricks that Delta knows at the moment are spinning around herself, walking under me while I stand & walk with my legs like an x (we are currently learning to walk backwards too!), for body awareness training we learned a trick where Delta stands in a bowl and Delta also knows how to lift up a ball with her mouth and then drop it. Hopefully one day we are at a point where she will drop the ball on my hand instead of the floor. :)

I have also been thinking about teaching the so called "touch stick" to Delta. With the help of that I could teach her even harder tricks in the future, like for example turning on and off the lights. If you have any fun tricks in mind, please do share them. We would love to try them out!
